What mobile detailing actually is
Mobile detailing is the same work we do in the shop, performed in your driveway or your parking spot at work. We arrive with our own water, set up in one parking bay, and leave the space as we found it. You do not need to run a hose out.
It is right for maintenance work — the recurring clean that keeps a car looking new, the pre-sale cleanup, the post-winter salt strip. Anything needing controlled lighting, dust or a cure window belongs in the shop, and we will say so rather than do it badly in a driveway.
Who it’s for — and who it isn’t
Worth it if…
- Recurring maintenance detailing every 4 to 12 weeks
- People who cannot lose half a day to a shop appointment
- Fleet and multi-car households — several vehicles in one visit
- Post-winter salt and post-beach sand removal
We’ll steer you elsewhere if…
- Coating, correction, PPF and tint. These need the shop. Medford only
- Cars parked where we cannot legally or safely set up. Ask and we will check
- Biohazard, flood or mould remediation. A different trade — we will refer you
Saying this costs us some jobs. That trade is deliberate.

What we use, and why
- Two-bucket contact wash
- How swirls get avoided instead of added. The whole difference from a car wash.
- Own water supply
- The van carries its own tank. Mobile service needs nothing from your house.
- Forced-air drying
- Air, not towels, for mirrors, badges and trim gaps.
Durability and aftercare
- How long it lasts
- A spray wax holds four to six weeks. A sealant runs three to five months depending on storage and use. Neither is a ceramic coating and we do not sell them as one.
- Maintenance rhythm
- Most cars look best every 8 to 12 weeks, tightened to 6 for a daily driver that lives outside. Beach sand and winter salt warrant a wash between details.
- How long it lasts
- A wax or sealant is a consumable. The durability above is what to expect from normal use — a car that lives outside through a Long Island winter will want it sooner.
Mobile Detailing questions
Do you need my water and power?
We carry our own water tank, so you do not need to run a hose out. All we need is a parking space with room to work around the car.
What happens if it rains?
We watch the forecast and call the day before if it looks bad. Rescheduling costs nothing.
Do you detail in winter?
Yes. Cold changes the products and adds time. Below a certain temperature exterior work will not cure, and then we move you to the shop or reschedule.
How far do you travel?
Within about 25 miles of our Medford shop, Suffolk County only. Past that it becomes a shop appointment or pickup and dropoff. The quote form tells you which as soon as you enter your address.
What does "starting at" mean?
The price for a car in normal condition for its size. Heavy pet hair, sand, salt or stains add time. We confirm the final number before we start, never after.
