A Coram car wash and ceramic coating are not the same purchase. A wax is a few weeks of gloss on top of your paint. A coating bonds chemically and has to be polished off — a different category, not a better version. Inland cars live on road salt in winter and pollen in spring, plus the brake dust that comes with real commuting mileage on the LIE. We serve Coram at our Medford shop, with pickup and dropoff available from Coram.
What Coram does to a car
Inland cars live on road salt in winter and pollen in spring, plus the brake dust that comes with real commuting mileage on the LIE. Winter road salt is the serious one. It gets into every seam and door shut and keeps working long after the roads are clear.
Road salt and bonded fallout are why ceramic coating pays for itself on a commuter car.
Locally that plays out along Route 112 and Middle Country Road , and around Long Island Expressway Exit 64. Those are the roads and places the cars we work on in Coram actually spend their time, and it shows in what we find at the walkaround.
Getting your car to Medford from Coram
Ceramic Coating is shop-only. It needs controlled dust, stable temperature, proper lighting and an overnight cure — none of which exists in a driveway.
About a 10-minute drive from Coram. Most customers bring the car in; if that is awkward, we collect it and return it cured.

Ceramic Coating in Coram — questions
Do you actually cover Coram?
Yes. Ceramic Coating is performed at our shop at 266 Middle Island Rd Suite 7, Medford, about 5 miles from Coram. You can bring the car in, or we can pick it up from Coram and return it when the work is finished and cured.
How far is your shop from Coram?
About 5 miles — call it 10 minutes door to door. We are at 266 Middle Island Rd Suite 7 in Medford, near LIE Exit 64. Traffic on Route 112 can move that either way.
What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2?
How much correction happens underneath, and how many layers go on top. Level 1 is an enhancement polish at 40–60% defect removal plus one layer of CSL, for 2–3 years. Level 2 is a full multi-step correction at 80–90% plus CSL and EXO V5, for 5–6 years, and adds wheel faces and all exterior glass. On swirled paint, Level 1 locks the swirls in.
Does a ceramic coating prevent scratches?
No — this is the most oversold claim in the category. It resists light marring and chemical etching, not rock chips, keys or brush-wash swirls. For chips you want paint protection film.
Do I still have to wash the car?
Yes. A coating makes washing easier and less frequent, not unnecessary. Skip it for months and contamination builds on top — then people conclude the coating stopped working.
